When the gang arrived in Quirkistan on a diplomatic mission, they met King Mamud. Mamud was a child, and spoiled rotten. Even worse, Quirkistan was an enchanted land, changing with the mood of the king. When he was happy, the kingdom thrived. When he was unhappy, plants withered, the ground dried, the skies darkened, etc. Princess Jasmine managed to cheer him up for a short while by telling him a story, but then he demanded that she stay forever and tell him stories. And what Mamud wanted, he got. Aladdin rescued Jasmine, but the king grew fouler than ever, and the land was devastated. Jasmine agreed to return to Mamud for the sake of his people. Aladdin came up with the scheme of putting on a show of her "relatives" (actually Iago, Abu, and the genie in disguise) to show that other people needed her as much as Mamud. Mamud felt sorry, and released Jasmine. At this, he discovered that being nice to people made him feel good. From that day forward, Quirkistan was much improved.
